Some behind the scenes changes at CBS Radio here: Patti Marshall, program director for Q102, has been elevated to operations manager for WKRQ-FM (101.9) and “everything alternative on shuffle” WAQZ-FM (97.3). She remains Q102 PD, as she has been for two years.
Julie Evans has been promoted from 'AQZ-FM promotions director to program director, replacing Jeff “Shaggy” Nagel. She started at the station as an intern in 2000.
Marty Thompson is program director for oldies WGRR-FM (103.5) and country WUBE-FM (105.1).

Fox 19 News
No surprise here: Ch. 19 sports reporter Brian Giesenschlag has been promoted to Fox 19 sports director. He replaces Dan Hoard, who left in March to become a minor-league baseball announcer. Giesenschlag and his bosses are looking at candidates for the sports reporting opening.


Kiese-watching
I love a good surprise, and we certainly got one last night on “Survivor” last night when the show put up “to be continued” after the tie vote at Tribal Council. I didn't see it coming; guess I wasn't watching the clock close enough. We’ll have to wait until the Sunday finale (8-10 p.m., Ch 9) to see if Danielle or Cirie wins the fire-building challenge to join Terry and Aras in the Final Three. (My guess is that Danielle or Terry wins the million.) They’ve really worked hard at keeping the show fresh, like with the Exile Island twist this season.

It will be a sad day Sunday when “The West Wing,” one of TV’s finest, ends its run Sunday. Some episodes were rocky after creator Aaron Sorkin quit, but this year has been has been terrific – the Jimmy Smits-Alan Alda campaigns for president, and last week’s excellent show about CJ (Allison Janney) pondering her next career move. I’ll hate to see it go. The finale airs at 8 p.m., after NBC repeats the 1999 pilot at 7 p.m., because the network was too cheap to produce the promised retrospective with cast members. No class!
I’m not expecting huge ratings for “The West Wing” Sunday. It’s up against the “Survivor” finale, the last “Malcolm in the Middle” (8:30 p.m.) and “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”
And here’s a warning for “Grey’s Anatomy” fans: ABC’s two-part finale starts 10 p.m. Sunday (against the “Survivor” reunion show), and concludes 9-11 p.m. Monday (against CBS’ popular lineup and “24”).
