Apparently everyone else is getting it -- we've only heard complaints from the TWC customers on the old Adelphia system. (This happened last fall too, when the former Adelphia customers couldn't get the St. Xavier HS football game that all other TWC could watch.)
As soon as I get some answers from TWC, I'll post them.
2:30 p.m. Update: You're out of luck again, former Adelphia cable customers on systems bought by Time Warner. Contrary to the TWC announcement earlier this week, not all subscribers will see the XU games this week (today and Friday) on basic Channel 2.

Here's what Karen Baxter, local TWC public affairs director says:
"We're sorry we've left those people out. We simply don't have a way of providing that feed to to those systems yet....
I live in Delhi, took off work to watch the game and was greeted with a screen that said "Thank you for choosing Time Warner" on Channel 2. When I switched to digital channel 99, I was able to watch a week-old high school game involving a Toledo team...awesome. I called up their customer service department, and to no one's surprise, was told that there was nothing that they would do.

I'm a DirecTV customer that doesn't subscribe to CSTV so I thought I wasn't going to see the game.
ReplyDeleteI tried FoxSports Cincinnati (738) just in case, and there were the Muskies and Flyers.
I simply don't believe NO ONE within TWC knew that some parts of their system wouldn't be able to receive these special Xavier basketball broadcasts. The fact that a blanket announcement was made, trumpeting that these games WOULD be available, without a hint that anyone might possibly have a problem, is inexcusable. But I'm sure that nobody will be held accountable.
ReplyDeleteGee, if I were TimeWarner, I'd try to do whatever to satisfy the customer. A satellite dish, a receiver with the proper password and a patch cable is all it normally takes.
ReplyDeleteIt's not like it's brain surgery. After all, before TWC bought Adelphia, you used to be able to watch NFL Network and Versus for a while.....now it's "technically difficult" to drive over to the head end in Amelia and the west side, aim the dish to the right bird and hard patch the feed into a modulator? Sorry TWC...even public access is easier than your poor excuse! You deserve a double technical and an ejection for this claim.

you are comparing apples to oranges with adelphia twc and the nfl network the carriage agreement was out the window when adelphia when bankrupt and parts of adelphia were sold off to other companies

ReplyDeleteAs a former Time Warner/Adelphia customer in Liberty Twp, we switched to Direct TV. I am not a huge college BB fan, but we have 4 times the HD channels and our bill dropped from $90 a month to $58 a month. I highly recommend Direct TV. I got the run around from Time Warner for years about this "upgrade" and I got sick and tired of listening to it. DIRECT TV IS THE WAY TO GO!!!

ReplyDeleteJust curious if now that CSTV is CBS College Sports TV if any of the NCAA tournament games will be on that network?
For the first round, with so many games playing at once, would it be possible to see one game on CBS and another on CSTV?
They dont do mid majors schools.
