A Northern Kentucky "Miracle Worker"
The premiere of ABC’s “Miracle Workers” series will feature Dr. Edward J. Holland, director of cornea services at Cincinnati Eye Institute. A TV crew spent about 10 days with Holland at the CEI satellite office in Edgewood last August and September when he treated a 34-year-old man from Kent, Ohio, who had been blind since childhood.
“Miracle Workers,” which features an elite medical team helping people overcome seemingly insurmountable odds, debuts at 10 p.m. Monday on ABC (Ch. 9, 22).

ABC: Jennifer Garner’s “Alias” finally returns to ABC on 8 p.m. Wednesday – not Thursday – starting April 19, so the series finale will air in May sweeps. “Alias,” off the air since December, will replace “George Lopez” and “Freddie,” which will end their seasons early....
NBC: Before “The West Wing” ends on May 14, fans will see many old faces on the show. Rob Lowe, Mary-Louise Parker, Annabeth Gish, Emily Proctor, Anna Deavere Smith, Marlee Matlin, Gary Cole and Tim Busfield will reprise their characters in guest shots. “The West Wing” returns March 12. The show still hasn't dealt with the death of VP candidate Leo McGarry (actor John Spencer, who died before Christmas.)

It’s March, and you know what that means – basketball tournaments, spring training games (1 p.m. today, Reds-Tigers on WLW-AM) and public TV fund-raising.
CET starts its annual March pledge drive tonight with yoga expert Lilias Folan in the studio during "Lilias! Yoga Gets Better with Age" (8 p.m., Channel 48). It’s also the title of her newest book. I am sorry to see that Dan Hoard is leaving WXIX to go to Boston
Nice to hear Marty, but the "other guy", not so much... He is boring and dull and white bread--just brings NO personality or character or charisma to the radio broadcasts... Bring back Joe, or hire Tracy Jones. Steve Stewart was a huge mistake.... End this experiment now...
Couldn't agree more with the above posts. The #2 guy in the booth needs to be an ex-player who can spin a few tales from the field in the dull moments, and offer a few insights along the way on baseball strategy. The "other guy" in nothing more than a "Ralph Radio" voice.
As for Dan, let's hope he can still work out a deal to do UC games, lest we get stuck with the tongue-tied Jeff Piecoro. Did you catch his act Tuesday night?
He had UC "leading by two" when the score was 52-49, referred to Jihad Muhammed as Jamal Muhammed, and said ERIK Martin was UC's all-time leader in blocked shots, just to name a few mistakes, to go along with his usual array of mispronunciations (JIST/just, BINGALS/bengals, INTERSTRING/interesting, FEE THROW/free throw).
This guy deserves a spot in the "George Von Benko Hall-of-Fame".
It is pretty amazing that a sports talk station like 1360 will have such disparity among the talent. The Two Angry Guys and Lance McAllister are excellent, Picoro and Waddell stumble and bumble and rarely make any sense.
Dan Hoard will be missed...not sure that bald Brian guy on 19 is ready for the main chair though...he's still stiff as an ironing board.
There's a reason for the disparity....MONEY.
To the best of my knowledge, Lance is the only full-time host on 1360.
Everyone else is part-time, and making very little money. They are all working one or two other jobs to survive. That all but eliminates time to prepare for their programs, which is why the finished product sounds so sloppy.
That is just an example of the sorry state of radio today. $7.00 an hour board operators do not make
top-notch talk show hosts.
Anyway, Clear Channel does not want 1360 or the other AMs to be too good, because it'll take away from WLW.
Waddell is full time isn't he?...he's producer/hockey host/fill-in/sport updates on WLW weekends/etc.
And I get the lack of preparation, but if they were any good as announcers, they might skirt by with calls. They just can't get out of their own way when their brain goes faster than their mouths.
And the desire to NOT outdo WLW becomes very clear at 6pm when 1360 puts the atrocious Phil Hendry on the air, talking about god-knows-what, leaving Andy Furman as the only sports talker at that time (unless you can get 1450 out of Hamilton and they aren't broadcasting some Butler County high school baseball game!)
I'm sure Joe Nuxhall is a nice old guy and all, but he is a crappy broadcaster, and always was. The "other guy" is a vast improvement.
Joe Nuxhall's ability to broadcast play-by-play, never very good, is declining. He would however be a great representative of the Reds and MLB if he were doing commentary and analysis, pre and post game interviews, other PR work..... even "extra-innings". Meanwhile Steve Stewart is good and improving.
Dan Hoard is a true professional and a class act......a real loss!!
how much did Marty determine the selection of "the other guy"? a dull pro vs. a colorful local? methinks marty likes to keep the thunder to himself.
