First Look at CinCW Schedule

"Charlie’s Angels." "Party of Five." "M*A*S*H." "Married… with Children." "Little House on the Prairie." "Everybody Loves Raymond."
Those are just a few of the reruns coming to Cincinnati’s new CW affiliate, WKRC-TV’s new digital Channel 12.2 (aka CinCW).
A week from today, Cincinnati will have its first new TV station in more than 15 years. The digital station will be carried by Insight and DirecTV (each on Channel 25) -- but still no deal with TimeWarner. Channel 12 executives have been negotiating with Time Warner for a basic channel, so all customers will get it. But as I said, no deal yet -- with only a week to go!
CW prime-time debuts 8 p.m. Sept. 18 with a "7th Heaven" repeat, and a "Gilmore Girls" rerun on Sept. 19, before the season premeire 8 p.m. Wednesday of "America’s Next Top Model."
The daytime schedule also includes reruns of "Everybody Loves Raymond," "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire," "Family Feud," "Simon & Simon," "NewsRadio" and Garry Sullivan’s "HomeWorx." The CW also programs 3-5 weekdays with double runs of "What I Like About You" and "Reba."
If I hear any news about Time Warner and the CW, I'll post it instantly.

Dancing Jerrys
This sounds bizarre: Before Jerry Springer debuts on "Dancing with the Stars," the "Dancing Jerrys" look-alikes will entertain folks at a "DWTS" viewing party Tuesday night at the 20th Century Theatre in Oakley. WSAI-AM (1360) has organized the viewing party, which starts at 6:30 p.m. Dancers from two local studios and the "Dancing Jerrys" – dancers with wigs, glasses and fake noses -- will perform before the 8-10 p.m. ABC broadcast. A $5 donation benefits the St. Vincent DePaul Society.

OK - I realize Time Warner Cable is a business and they exist to make money, but can anyone think of another service company that is so obviously non-consumer friendly than TWC? Now they talk a good game (view their ads) but whenever something new happens in programming (like CinCW, Logo, UPN, Channel 38) there's always an inordinant amount of gyrating, twisting, shouting, begging and plain old being subborn on TWC's part to resist offering something new to viewers in this market (unless it's a new home shopping channel). Oh please - somebody offer Cincinnati a cable alternative to make TWC more competitive!!!

Any chance the that ESPN is trying to force Time Warner to carry ESPNU by putting the Crosstown Shootout and other UC games on the channel? Is it really possible that the Shootout would not be shown in Cincy???

I think it's very possible that the Crosstown Shootout would not be shown here if it were up to TWC. They could give jack about making programming available - it's all about profit for them.

The Crosstown Shootout will be shown locally on FOX19

One other truth about TimeWarner -- they offer (actually, CLAIM to offer) the ability to send e-mailed questions and complaints to them via their website. Over the years, I've probably sent three specific questions to them, and waited patiently for a response. I have NEVER received an acknowledgment of ANY question, let alone an ANSWER. They are monumentally arrogant and rude as a corporation -- too bad we have no choice for cable in SW Ohio. Maybe THAT would spur them to at least respond to their customers!

you would figure that tw would want cincw here but to them its all about money,JOHN PLEASE ANSWER THIS when twc signed the last contract to provide service to cinci isnt there a clause in the contract about no competition during the length of the contract? i would love to see a 2nd cable company in town

TimeWarner claims that adding the NFL Network would mean that they are charging certain customers for product that those customers are not interested in. Does that mean I should get some kind of refund since I'm not interested in the myriad of home shopping channels TimeWarner airs?

Hey John-

Any chance at all that Local 12 will show the CW 2-hour block overnight in the wee hours of the morning so we can Tivo it and watch it the next day?

TIME WARNER MUST GO!

This type of treatment by TWC is exactly why I switched my TV to DirecTV and my internet to Fuse. I am much happier with my service as well as extremely pleased to not have to write a check to that horrible company each month! There service is inferior and their customer service is HORRIBLE. I have had nothing but WONDERFUL treatment by the DirecTV people. I was so shocked in fact, that I thanked them for being so nice. How pathetic is that? Says a lot for TWC...

Time Warner has never carried all of the local stations in Cincinnati, much less Dayton. Now they are bragging on radio ads about carrying all of the high def locals, that we get for free anyway! Speaking of high def, I hope they carry the Dayton CW affiliate which will be in High Def, CinCW won't be in High def actually WKRC CBS's high def signal has deteriorated since the CinCW test signal went on the air.

I am wondering what WBQC's and WSTR's ratings have been since they dropped their affiliations with UPN and WB. I watched UPN programming from the beginning, especially Voyager. I had also watched the syndicated programming on Channel 64 since the 1980s. I never had much interest in the teen series that WB showed, except for Everwood, which over time became one of my all-time favorite TV series.

When the network musical chairs began last winter, I was annoyed, even insulted, by the comments made by the program managers/owners of WBQC and WSTR toward their networks' series and their viewers. So much so, that when these two local stations turned off UPN and WB, I programmed my remote to skip over the channels altogether. It's unlikely I'll ever watch them again, because their current programming is of no interest to me and because of the sour taste left in my mouth by their managers' comments.

I don't know if I'll ever watch see CW. I have what Time Warner calls Lifeline (expanded basic) cable, no premium channels. For 20 years that has provided enough channels for me. If Everwood had been renewed, I had planned to buy a digital TV just so I could watch it on Channel 12.2 (I know I'll have to buy one eventually, but not this year).

Can someone help me? I can't get my ON-TV box to work!

Wow, hard to believe that for once Insight seems to have done something good for the customer. After going through a month where my internet service was mostly down, I guess they have fixed their problem. Glad they added CW.

Jeff,

Unfortunately, those On-TV boxes blew up when the Cincy Commercial Warehouse went POOF for Paul Brown Stadium.

Well....those boxes and a few hundred rats too!

Hey everybody, I think Andy Trienan wants you to know he's in Louisville now. Buh bye Andy. Thanks for stopping back in Cincy for a few weeks.

O.k. The CW will benefit those with digital service or other forms of cable. What about those who don't have Direct TV, digital cable or even "basic" cable? I still use an antenna and get basic channels. Does this mean that I won't get to watch my favorite shows because I don't want to purchase cable? How is that fair for the rest of us?

If I'm not mistaken, the W in CW stands for Warner. Wouldn't be logical for a cable company owned by Time Warner want to broadcast programming on station it also co-owns?

This CW ridiculous-ness is just another in a long list of reasons that I am moving away from Cincinnati. Until I find out my start date of my new job in my new city, however, I am getting around it by having a dear friend in Northern KY (who will get the CW as a basic cable channel on Insight) tape my shows for me. So there, Time Warner!
