Venus Ramey on Leno
Venus Ramey, the 1944 Miss America and former Cincinnati City Council candidate, gets another shot at national publicity on "The Tonight Show" tonight (11:35 p.m., Chs. 5, 2). Ramey, 82, made Enquirer headlines a week ago when she shot out a truck tire of a man she says was stealing from her farm in Waynesburg, Ky., about 140 miles south of Cincinnati. Police then arrested the man and two others.

Ramey lived in Cincinnati one and off for about 30 years. She attended Withrow High School. She was crowned Miss America in 1944, representing Washington D.C.
Leno's first guest tonight is Conan O'Brien, who's in California preparing to broadcast his "Late Night" show all next week from San Francisco. Conan's lineup next week includes Dana Carvey (Mon), George Lucas (Tues), Robin Williams (Weds), "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson and Bob Weir from the Grateful Dead, (Thurs) Snoop Dogg and Tom Waits (Fri).
And in two years, O'Brien will take over Leno's show.... (I wish Jon Stewart was replacing Leno, not Conan.) Still no word who will replace O'Brien in '09. Any suggestions? Don Imus, Rosie O'Donnell (just kidding)...

I'm glad Conan is taking over the tonight show. I love Jon Stewert but if I remember he had a late night talk show that didn't do so well. Plus I bet Stewert will take over the Late Show when Letterman retires.
As far as replacing Conan, I say Greg Giraldo.
You just posted my dream job... ME ME ME ME ME!!!
Keise: Have you seen the new WLW billboards yet? Could they possibly be more racist, or more strerotypically offensive toward the Hispanic community?
Shall we learn the ethnic background of Darryl Parks -- or the Mays family -- and post a similarly unflattering slur in response? How would they like it?
Jon Stewart would've been a good choice, I agree... Letterman won't be on forever, will he? Personally, I think he was a lot funnier before he starting wearing Armani...
kiese what I heard is nbc is having talks with jimmy fallon for a deal possibly to take over late night.
I do not agree with you on conan, he is the perfect choice for leno's replacement. Conan is smart, think on his feet, great interaction with guests.
I hear Imus is available.
Conan is Hilarious! Can't wait till Leno is off in '09.
Conan blows Leno out of the water. It's about time Jay step down. His act is old and his nice guy attitude on camera is a farce.
Conan is probably the smartest comedy writer/performer of his generation.
Venus was great on Leno. What made it even funnier were the funny faces that Conan made while she was speaking. She told them quite frankly what happened.
Conan wah GREAT on Leno, I can't wait until 2009.
If any of the folks who deemed this story about Venus newsworthy had just driven by her property, they would have been stunned and sickened at the horrible conditions her dogs, geese and who-knows-what- else lives in. Last summer, I reported her to the county judge for keeping a horse on an 8 foot chain beside the road...all summer. This winter I reported her again, for providing no shelter for a number of caged and chained dogs. Many of her dogs run back and forth across the road, and I have seen several hit by motorists. Her 'farm' is covered with junk and trash, broken motor homes and appliances. THIS is the KY Jay makes fun of, and it is real.
Not so cute now, is she?
