Two Angry Guys Back On The Air Monday
Surprise, surprise: The "Two Angry Guys" return to radio 6-10 a.m. Monday on WFTK-FM (SupertalkFM96.5), after months of rumors.
SupertalkFM96.5 scooped itself, by accidentally posting Richard Skinner and Tom Gamble as part of the new station lineup on its website late Friday afternoon. http://www.supertalkfm965.com/
"It was supposed to be a surprise," says Jeff Davis, assistant program director.
Skinner and Gamble, two former Kentucky Post sports staffers, have not worked together for nearly a year. It will be good to hear them together again. It will be good to hear their rants again.
Skinner and Gamble have broadcast together for about 10 years on WBOB-AM and Clear Channel's WSAI-AM and WCKY-AM. Clear Channel broke up the team last November, when Andy Furman was fired as WLW-AM's "SportsTalk" host.
Gamble moved from mornings to take over "SportsTalk" from November to March, when he voluntarily left the show and Clear Channel. Gamble, a full-time teacher at Northern Kentucky University, said he wanted to spend more time with his three young sons and wife.
Skinner, who had continued to do mornings solo on WCKY-AM (HOMER 1530), was fired in May. At the time, Skinner vowed it was "not the end of the 'Two Angry Guys.' "
Adding its first local morning show -- prime time for radio -- should help put SupertalkFM96.5 on the map. Furman has been the first and only local weekday host on the station, Cincinnati's first all-talk FM station.
"Ever since Skinner was fired by Clear Channel in May, we've been getting e-mails saying, 'Bring back the Angry Guys.' There were on morning radio for more than seven years, and people miss them. They were a tradition for many people,"
Skinner and Gamble replace the low-rated syndicated "Mancow in the Morning" show. Also Monday, Glenn Beck will move back an hour, to 10 p.m.-1 a.m. Dave Ramsey gains an hour, expanding to 1-4 p.m. Conservative Bill O'Reilly loses his afternoon slot, and will be heard on tape 7-9 p.m. Dennis Miller's new nationally syndicated show will air 9 p.m.-midnight.
Welcome back Angry Guys! We missed you!

It's about time. I can actually listen to the radio in the mornings again.
Looks like another big change could be on the way - Furman is already getting cut to only two hours a day - a 33% cut - How about a follow up post to the blog about this?
these guys will no doubt receive higher ratings than those other two goons on 1530...the angry guys produce quality radio...i'm happy to see them back
I am so happy The Angry Guys will be back on the air. I really missed hearing adults doing sports talk.
PD declares victory for 96.5
This is great news. The quality from 6-10 on HOMER has plummeted since the Angrys left, and I am glad to have them back.
Thank God! My buddies and I LOVE the 2 angry guys! They know their sports, tell it like it is and they even helped my buddy with his dating problems (well, kinda, he still has dating problems). We've been very disappointed with the hosts from 6-12 on 1530 and can't wait to hear them again. ClearChannel will now realize its mistake. Welcome back, Richard and Tom!
"AWWWW come on ..." over or under that gets said by Gamble in the first five minutes ... welcome back guys!
buh bye Tim and Gregg and Mo ...if it weren't for Lance (still not a big fan of his ... but better than Furman) ... I dont think Homer would have made the switch to 1530.
It's about time!! SEE YA 1530 the BLOG animal!
I am excited to have the Angry Guys back in the mornings. I used to listen to 1530 every morning on my drive to work until they brought in Tim Lewis. I have not listened since. I will have 96.5 on the radio Monday morning.
And this comes as a surprise to whom, exactly?
Great - more meaningless talk about sports in Cincinnati from a bunch of fat people who couldn't run the length of a football field if their lives depended on it.
To Anon 9/28 9:52 p.m.:
Furman still will be doing 3 hours, 4-7, as he has since he started in January. His show isn't shrinking with new lineup Monday.
Must be Lance's "Butler Math" that said Furman was an hour less.
Has anybody tried their streaming audio? I've been trying since yesterday afternoon bur can't get any audio. The player says "playing" but no sound. Every other streaming I've tried works. So I don't think it's a problem on my end. Is it working for anybody?
The AG's produce quality radio. Are you kidding me? The two don't get along doing radio. How long do you actually think this is going to last? I cannot stand the two whining jerks, who constantly talk over each other. It is the most annoying radio this town has ever produced. Give me the Big Dog any day of the week.
Thank god!! I can listen to morning sports talk again. The morons on 1530 are completely unlistenable. This is great news!!!
The world is now back in balance. Why? The Angry Guys are back on the air and Bob from St. Bernard called in this morning with his heaving breathing into the phone and saying meaningless blabber. Wow!! If you listen to these talk shows, about 98% of the callers are the same people saying the same meaningless things. Bengals Bengals Bengals. UGH
Welcome back??? Puhlease. Angries shtick got old after their first two weeks on the air way back when. I'm sure the <100 IQ crowd will like having them back on the air though.

seeing as how this is Cincinnati sports radio and it is the football season are you expecting knitting?
Kiese, there was a caller this morning asking why there was no promotion and they said contract issue ... any more info?
I would think that ClearChannel would simply not them do it at all until a contract issue is up ...
Nice to hear them this morning! I guess Skinner had to sell a car until they started the gig ... lol.
The angry guys are tough to listen to. I flipped it on this morning (expecting Mancow) and the guys were talking about male genitals for 5 minutes when I finally turned it off.
Count me as one who will miss Mancow.
i guess i am the only person who is upset that Beck is now delayed an hour.
This is great news! I just wish I could pick up the station in my office...

Please send an email to the program director. I would love to listen to their stream but it is block by our proxy server because they are using a well known service for their streaming. If they host it or use there own url it will get around the proxy server.
Sports Talk Radio = Proof that Americans are getting dumber by the minute.
I'll miss Tim Lewis talking about his baseball cards. If I need a nap I might check back. Welcome back Angry Guy's!!
Tim Lewis has very little knowledge about sports. I want to listen to someone who knows what they are talking about. I don't care who you root for or whether i agree or disagree with your opinion...just know what you are talking about. Lewis fails that test.
Glad they are back. How about the stealth marketing. I didn't realize they were on the air until I heard them while scanning the dial. Thank God I do not have to listen to Tim Lewis any more.
