Friday's NCAA Lineup On Channel 12

Here's the Channel 12 NCAA Tournament lineup for Friday. All games will be in HDTV and standard definition.

All four games are CBS "flex" coverage, which means the network could jump around to other games if there's a blow-out. (Channel 12 has requested "constant" coverage for the Xavier-Georgia game today, so CBS should stick with it for the entire game.)

Noon: Pregame show
12:25 p.m.: Davidson-Gonzaga
2:35 p.m.: Butler-South Alabama
7 p.m.: Pregame show
7:10 p.m.: North Carolina-Mount St. Mary
9:30 p.m. (approximately): Indiana-Arkansas

I'm a little disappointed that Local 12 is going to show the North Carolina game. No one wants to see a 1 seed beat up on a helpless 16 seed, especially when the best game of the opening round, Kansas State verses USC, will be airing at the same time. Both those teams feature local high school players [OJ Mayo and Bill Walker] that brought home state championships to Cincinnat. And the Bob Huggins/Kansas State connections still exist as well.

Channel 12's decision to show the North Carolina game seems ill-informed, regardless how generous the flex schedule might be.

The station is really at the mercy of the network. Local stations have little control over national content. Of course they can request whatever they like, but they are stuck with network decisions.

I've worked there during the tournament and have seen every telephone in the building light up when the network gets to a game late or switches to another game.

After two years of that, I started taking vacation during the tournament.

Also, it wouldn't matter which game was shown, I guarantee there's someone out there that will call the station and voice their "outrage!".

Hey Steve this is Friday's line up not Thursday. If you read a few lines down you'll see the KS - USC game is on tonight.

Steve - feel free to do some research before you post. The USC - KState game is today.

The Louisville game will be a blowout. Indiana is the better game since they are on at the same time.

So, the real issue here is with Steve? Give us Steve's phone number and we'll have the fans give him a call.

I am a Tennessee fan and would like to see that game. Who gives a rats A$$ about Davidson and Gonzaga. We live closer to Tennessee not Washington or North Carolina.
