Laura Ingraham returns to airwaves
There goes the Judge! WKRC-AM (550) has pulled the plug on “Brian and The Judge,” the Fox radio replacement for Tony Snow that debuted Thursday. Instead of Brian Kilmeade from “Fox & Friends” and retired New Jersey judge Andrew Napolitano, WKRC-AM listeners heard Laura Ingraham 9 a.m.-noon Monday. Ingraham was on the WBOB-AM (1160) talk lineup until the station switched to oldies Feb. 11. WKRC-AM had considered adding Ingraham in January, when the station blew out Glenn Beck for Snow.
Local “Wife Swap,” but not “Supernanny”
The “Wife Swap” shot in Deerfield Township last month with Kim Carrao’s family airs at 8 p.m. today (Ch. 9), but we’ll have to wait a while to see the “Supernanny” shot in Erlanger in March. “Supernanny” ends its season today (9 p.m., Ch. 9) after “Wife Swap.” The Kentucky episode will air in the fall, if ABC renews the series for a third season on May 16, says an ABC publicist. Or it could air this summer. The network has never revealed the name of the Kenton County family on the show.
For “Wife Swap,” hair stylist Kim Carrao switched places with “Cowgirl Jen” Ridgely, who’s married to a Delaware professional bull rider. We’ll see her shoveling manure in high heels tonight, and later see Ridgely’s husband take a swing at Carrao’s husband. And Granny too! Boy I miss those punchlines you might have missed.
Despite the number of talented (not Pat Barry) locals that could have filled that time slot on 55KRC, Clear Channel will never put anything worth listening to on that frequency. It would take ratings away from WLW and add a salary to their budget. Just look what is on the other CC AM's opposite McConnell.
Jeff Piecoro- stammering his way thru the English language (Bingals, Interstring, Recooting just to name a few slaughtered words). At $8.00 an hour, grammer is not a requirement.
I couldn't even tell you what's on 1530. My dial stops at 1450 ESPN.
Wouldn't some local programming sound good again? Where are all those people that had their jobs eliminated in the late 90's?
well, I, for one, am shocked, but pleasantly surprised, that laura ingraham has been added to WKRC's lineup. she is an extremely intelligent woman with a slightly askew sense of humor which can appeal to a broad range of age groups of both sexes. she is capable of interviewing guests with whom she may or may not agree without becoming the pompous prig and obnoxious cliche that is sean hannity.
i can finally forego listening to my beloved glenn beck via a coumbus station from time to time now that cincinnati is finally entering the 21st century with a female voice as part of the daily lineup.
now, just dump hannity and bring on either Liddy or Hugh Hewitt and all will be right with the world!
I agree that Ingraham is a great addition to the KRC lineup. I also agree that they should dump Hannity. But they won't. Too bad.
I find Hannity to be a Rush-clone. Rush used to be talented. (Remember his first 5 years or so...energetic, humorous), now it's the monologues.
why would they get rid of sean hannity if people actually listen to him? liberals...
Hey Zuleika,...Cincinnati joined the 21st Century in the 80s when Jim LaBrbra did a daily show on WCKY with a female host called Bailey & LaBarbra. Also the old 550 WLWA had Kathy Lehr doing a daily show in 1993 and Laura Ingraham has been on in Cincinnati for several years on the old WBOB. Why don't you do a little research before you write dumb statements like that?
WLWA....ah yes, memories of CHIC TALK with Janeen Coyle and Jeri Tolliver, afternoons at 5 on 55KRC, uh, I mean 550WLWA.
Hey, atleast KRC didn't have Lynn Gladhill on.....though I do remember the Granny and Joe Cookin' Show (RIP Joe Lo-Lo-Lo-Lomas, L-O-M-A Lomas)
