A Look Into The Future?

Are we seeing into the future? Jerry Thomas did his WKRC-AM show this week with his son, Brian, an attorney. I keep hearing that Brian will get the gig and replace pop in the new year… And was Jerry's last show today?
Pat Barry, the former Ch 5 and Ch 19 weatherman, returns to Ch 19 the next weeks for some holiday vacation fill-in work (and an audition?). He’s giving Paul Horton and Valerie Abati a break, since the two of them have been doing the work of three people since Rich Apuzzo was fired in early October…

Peter Boyle tribute
The Biography Channel salutes the late Peter Boyle with "Biography Remembers: Peter Boyle" at 8 p.m. Saturday. "Everybody Loves Raymond" co-stars Ray Romano, Doris Roberts and Brad Garrett, and friends Robert Klein and Howard Hesseman, were interviewed for the tribute. Boyle died Tuesday at age 71.

If Brian Thomas gives up law for radio, either he needs his head examined or things must be REAL slow in the legal business.

Pat Barry to 19. At least he has some personality. Maybe he could incorporate his real name and bring us "Tingley Tracker Radar"

Speaking of 19, did you see the outfit Val was wearing last night, with her new "do".

Speaking of 19, Apuzzo going to 5 would be a very good move on their part. Maybe that's why O'Brien is on extended life support until the 6 months are up on Rich's no-compete.

that sucks. i enjoyed the repartee that jerry and craig had developed and craig would have "worked" fine with john phillips. but brian thomas has an unpleasant "edge" that i do not enjoy in the morning. too bad and best of luck to craig if this is true.

Craig has been around there for a long time.
Translation: He's making too much money to be on one of the throw-away stations(Homer and WSAI and WVMX are the others).

Craig was offered a job to do Internet Content at a CONSIDERABLE reduction in pay.

Professional Advice: Craig take the unemployment and get out of that mess at CC. There are plenty of non-broadcasting opportunities out there.

Thanks for noticing, Anonymous. I've been filling in sporadically for a few weeks. Seems Fox19 needed some help about the time I moved to Cincinnati late this summer. I'm happy to fill in until the station can make a permanent decision. FWIW, I have found the people in the Fox19 newsroom to be friendly and professional and I appreciate that they've put up with the questions from this interloper-in-limbo. It's hard to get into a groove when you don't do the job daily. They've been very patient and nice to work with.
Take care.
