May Sweeps, TV's Final Four (Weeks)
May sweeps start Thursday, the final four weeks of the 06-07 TV season, with all the network prime-time series airing season finales -- or series finales. Some will air after the networks cancel the shows the week of May 14-18, and announce their Fall TV lineups.
Several long-time favorites are on the bubble, and could be canceled, starting with NBC's Law & Order, currently the longest running show on TV. Producer Dick Wolfe is considering reducing the cast, and other budget cuts, to save the show. Other shows in trouble: Law & Order: CI; Gilmore Girls, Friday Night Lights, The Unit, Medium, What About Brian, October Road, Scrubs, Jericho, The Class, Ghost Whisperer, New Adventures of Old Christine, Crossing Jordan, The War at Home, Supernatural and all of the ABC comedies (According to Jim, George Lopez, In Case of Emergency, Knights of Prosperity). USA Today's analysis is at

TV Guide is reporting that ABC may pick up Scrubs, which it owns, if NBC cancels it.
USA Today says these shows are dead: Close to Home, 7th Heaven, Veronica Mars, The Black Donnells, Raines, Six Degrees and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.
Which shows should be saved? Which would you miss most?

Man I hope the unit and law and order c/i make it. Glad to hear ABC will pick up scrubs if canceled.
The only problem with that story and links in the story, it was originally posted on April 11. It is to late to vote to save or bury any of the shows.
USA Today's wrong about Veronica Mars. No decision's been made on that yet.
I would miss Friday Lights Lights
i watched the friday night lights show once, but i got dizzy from the camera always moving and changing shots. is that cinematography? it just seemed the camera was moving and it was like watching a home video made with a camcorder from the 80s. since vertigo and wathcing tv don't match for me, i just stopped watching the show.
Jericho is absolutely awesome! I really hope they renew it.
i will miss 7th heaven.
kiese the bigger story for may sweeps is what are local news stations doing for sweeps.
Is a red going to be anchoring sports one night.
Is there going to be another condunct unbecoming story from 5.
veronica mars was extremely interesting and well written. Then it seemed it tried to become 'cute', and the writing wasn't as good. As much as I was addicted to it, I think it is time for it to go.
I would miss both Law & Orders and Studio 60. Studio 60 was an exccellent & well-written show, but the network never gave it a chance to catch on. It's ridiculous how short a time period some shows are given.
Count me as another who would miss Friday Night Lights. It has become a family TV night for all four of us to sit down and TOGETHER watch the show. When one of us misses, we ruin it for the person who missed by telling them the important parts before they see the tape.
If for nothing else, in this hectic day and go-go-go world, it has been nice to relax together on a weekly basis.
I am also a fan of Jericho. I think CBS would be incredibly short-sighted to cancel what is a well-written, well-acted show. If the lame-brain, so called reality shows can garner air time, so can this show. The plot line gives us all reason to think, "what if".
my wife said that Gilmore Girls is already scheduled to end when Rory graduates from college. The writers who left a year ago had already planned the ending.
Supposedly this is the planned final year.
Trust me, my wife should know ;-)
