Rules for accepting Emmys

They send some earnest, fun-loving officials out to the stage before the show starts to giive the audience, especially winners, some directions. Such as :

-- If you name is called, get up on stage quick. As a special bonus, anybody who runs down the aisle from the back gets an extra 15 seconds for the acceptance speech.

-- For speeches: Be funny, be heartfelt, be witty. Mostly, be quick.

-- Stay in your seats for whole show. (Apparently this show doesn't have seat-fillers to cover for people who slip out for a drink after their categories are called.)
