B105 Nominated For Station of Year

WUBE-FM (105.1) staffers have an added incentive to watch the 43rd annual Academy of Country Music Awards May 18.

B105 has been nominated as a major market "radio station of the year" by the academy along with WXTU-FM, Philadelphia, Pa.; KYGO-FM, Denver; WQYK-FM, St. Petersburg, Fla.; WMIL-FM, Greenfield, Wisc. It's B105's first nomination from the Academy of Country Music.

Judging is based on the station's involvement in the community, its commitment to growing the country music format, and ratings and revenue success.

The winner will be announced -- but not presented -- during the live telecast on CBS May 18 (8-11 p.m., Channels 12, 7).

I like the part about "Major Market Station". What a hoot to call this town "Major Market" for radio. I doubt that very much!!!!

ha. WLW news/talk station winner. What a stretch to use the word "news" when talking about, pardon the expression, WLW.

Yeah, why would you call then a "news" station when they only do newscasts every half hour 24/7. jeez!

I just finished listening to the noon news on 700 WLW, News/talk station winner. Well, there were two news stories -- one about the George Clooney movie opening in Maysville and then three sports reports and then the weather. Wow, alot of news from the news leader, yea boy!!!
