Two Angry Guys Back Monday

Don't get mad at 96 Rock, the Two Angry Guys will return. Richard Skinner and Tom Gamble had said they would be back from vacation today... But Tom Gamble just assured me they will be back Monday.

The guys on Wednesday were at WFKT-FM (96.5) -- which changed from SupertalkFM96.5 to 96 Rock on Dec. 14. They have been off the air since then.

Gamble says they're working on when to do news, traffic and commercial breaks ("the clock") during their 6-10 a.m. show. Gamble says the Two Angries might play a couple of songs each hour also... so this should be interesting. They're back at 6 a.m. Monday, "just in time for Ohio State to be embarrassed by a SEC team for the second year in a row," Gamble says.

This might be just me, but I think they'll be embarrassed to be on that station. A really unnatural pairing, I think. I feel bad for them.
It is just an awful station--unless you are a 17 year old head-banger.

John, please pass on my best wishes to the 2 angry guys. I tuned every radio I own to 96.5 when they launched as a talk station and even before 'Enter Sandman' finished playing I have tuned away and have unprogramed 96.5 from every radio I own. I pretty much just stick to my iPod and listen to the talk shows via their podcasts or live from their websites and I get my traffic reports from the big CC stations that actually have the traffic on at regular frequent intervals and cover more than just I275 in No. KY. - I was a big fan of SuperTalk and have been "pissed all day" since the format change.

It will be good to have the angry people back on again.

I've got a sinking feeling that the Two Angry Guys will be unemployed again once their contract runs out.

This is good news although I wish the Angry Guys would get back on 1530 Homer. This new format at 96.5 is crap. I can't believe anyone wants to listen. If WLW can't figure our their 3-6 slot, maybe they could use the Angry Guys??

Tom and Richard have to be just plain frustrated they have to stay on that station. Listen to that music for more than 3 minutes and you get dizzy and want to puke!! I think these boys are 10-4 once their contract ends. As Tom always says GOOOD GOOOOOOD!!

That's too bad they are coming back. When I turned on 96.5 and heard Nickelback last week, I was so happy. How often do you ever hear someone say they are happy to hear Nickelback? I have better things to do than listen to two guys who couldn't even hack it as high school sports reporters. Gamble just pushes his own agenda (Colerain football) and slams Bengals fans 24/7. I can't wait to see them bagging groceries at Krogers some day.

Here we go again....all of the "old-school" people in Cincinnati. I think that the talk format did not do well and failed miserably which is why you are seeing a change.
I really like the new rock format. It will finally give WEBN a run for their money. That may be the worst station on the dial here. It will also help out 94.9 and gives the YP's something else to listen to.
I know Cincinnati...you can not change without crying and wishing it was still 1975 here. Try and support this though. The Angry guys will land on their feet.

The 2 Angries are twice as good as anyone Homer has trotted out in any morning time slot since they left. What a joke. They should be back on Homer!!!!

I don't know why they would play music. It seems kinda silly, just because they are a "rock station"? Bob & Tom are on rock stations across the country and they don't play songs.

The 2 angry guys are lame. They should get fired.

I like the new format of 96.5, about time there is another rock station to go up against WEBN. If the song was recorded after 1985, WEBN won't play it.

Anon 1:33 you sound like the idiots at Cumulus calling it a miserable failure after only one year. These formats take much longer than a year to get going and I understand the Angry Guys were starting to help turn it around.

Yeah just what we need. More Nickelback on the radio. I hope you enjoy this new 96 Rock because it will probably be gone ina year too.

The Angry Guys kick butt and the new format rocks. Way better than all the talking heads on WEBN, and way better music. How many times does WEBN think I need to hear the same tired bands and songs? As Tom Gamble would say "HOLY! ABYSMAL!"

Dudes, I LOVE them coming back on!
Are ya KIDDING me?!!! They're awesome!!! As for being embarassed
to be on head-banger station,
I just hit 40 and am certainly not
a head-banger but I digg the music
they've been playing on 96.5!
With the Angry Guys in the morning
and great music after, this is
gonna be my new favorite
radio station, hands down!

96 Rock has potential to do a great job here in Cincy if they keep local talent on the air and behind the scenes... it will give WEBN a run for their money... like what New Rock 97.3 was kicking butt at doing until the "Suits" started sticking their noses in it and turned it into crap... as for 94.9, does anybody listen to them??? I'm a YP and can't stand that station and neither can my friends... they need to just change that station...

like someone said i think the 2 angry guys will be terminated when their contracts expire and chris shaw has left fox 19 fox 19 needs a new look i cant remember the last time they had a new or fresh look

pardon me, but I can't stop laughing over the fact these guys moved over to this station, sign a contract, and the station's ratings never materialized , and now they are stuck among the worst music on the planet. FUNNY!!!!!!!

What in the heck is a YP? 94.9 rules! WEBN stinks! I love to here AC-DC, Zepplin, Metallica all day long. I fill bad for Tom and Richard they are the best mourning show in the city, and they get the boot on 1530, to come to 96.5 to spin Metallica crap and talk sports. And as for 1530, if I waste anymore of my life listing to "The Cutman", I am going to take up smoking. Alan Cutler STINKS!

"as for 94.9, is anybody listening to them?"
Another well informed statement. 94.9 was in 2nd place p18-34 as of november. You're right. They should change it.

I've been listening to the return of the Angry Guys this morning and they are just as funny as ever BUT this new format is going to kill the ratings they brought to this channel. A lot of their listening fans will not go for the musical interludes that we are now subjected to. I feel bad for the guys...sign with a station, return to the air in October, only to have the station change formats at year's end....it's sad. I doubt I'll be the regular listener I used to be. Good luck Angries! I hope you get the chance to return to a normal talk station in 2008.

Love the Angry Guys --- hate the new format. How can you have a Cincinnati sports talk show and rock and roll music at the same time??? This programming will not make it and the alternative is 1530 --- no thanks! Thank goodness for XM!!

I have to agree - this new format blows. I don't want to listen to crappy music when I tune into the Angries. And tuning to Cutler during the songs is just not an option - he is completely awful. I feel bad for Tom and Richard. If I were them I would be pissed with the bait-and-switch Cumulus pulled.

I agree with previous posters. I looked SO forward to the return of the Angries, and it was PAINFUL! To have to sit through that musical dreck when they aren't talking is like hitting myself repeatedly in the head with a hammer. I'm done kids. I'll follow their careers and look forward to when they re-surface on a SportsTalk station.
As it stands now? Complete absurdity.
Sorry Richard and Tom--you guys deserve SO much better...

The Angry Guys are the best thing on Cincinnati radio, absolutely blow anyone on Homer out of the water (including Mr. Wishy-Washy, Lance McAllister)... and if you are happy to hear Nickelback on the radio, you must have been dropped on your head, born in Canada, or both.

96 Rock's morning show is the fault of Daryl Parks

The Two Angry Guys might have been fine as sports talk hosts on an all-talk station, but come on. Their morning show for a rock station is the worst thing on the radio. ALL they know is sports. Any topic other than sports very soon shifts to sports. Tune in their show any time and they will be discussing sports.

The new 96 Rock had a great opportunity to create a good, solid, entertaining morning show to go up against WEBN's Dawn Patrol, which just tanked due to the loss of Ed Fingers. But they didn't.

But an all-sports talk show on 96 Rock is terrible. Jettison the sports-talk to five minutes an hour and see what happens.

Thank God I got an XM Radio for Christmas.

It seems that, "The Two Angry Guys" are turning from sports talk into crap talk. All I hear are sports headlines for about five minutes then a constant flow of crap until 10 a.m.
It sucks that you have ruined your show because it used to be good.
