Angel Harvey, Rest In Peace

Lynne "Angel" Harvey, wife of newscaster Paul Harvey, died Saturday after a year-long battle with leukemia.

She developed and edited her husband's "The Rest of the Story" feature. In 1997, she became the first producer inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame.

Born Lynne Cooper in St. Louis, she met Paul Harvey when they both worked at a radio station in her hometown in 1939. They married in 1940, and moved to Chicago in 1945, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Paul Harvey has been off the air since Feb. 29. Funeral services are Tuesday in Chicago.

Here's the Sun-Times obit:

One quick related note: Paul Harvey reports have not debuted on WDJO-AM (1160) yet because the station is still waiting on a satellite hook-up with ABC News, says Rodger Kay, WDJO-AM operations director.

sad news, indeed. Explains why Paul has been absent as much as he has been the past year. say what you want about Paul Harvey, yes he was corny, and a throw back. But he and his wife serve as a great example of what marriage and family are supposed to mean. We could all learn a lot from that.
May she rest in peace, and may her family find the strength in God to go forward until their own day shall come.

Ditto to House of Cards comments. My condolences to Paul and the family.

This is the first I heard this news. Thanks for mentioning it here, John.

We considered Paul and Angel part of our household, started the morning early with their News, and his loving mention of her each day.
We will miss them both.

Ditto to all before. May they have peace until the day of their reunion.

Meanwhile, (and I just have to say it), leave it to Clear Channel to kick a man when he's down!
