The Dish Steps To The Reds
DISH Network has stepped up to the plate and picked up Reds games in high-definition from Fox Sports Net Ohio.
DISH says it will carry "game-only baseball content" in HD on DISH Network Channel 377 starting today. FSNO has 15 (of 33) HD games remaining this season, starting with the Reds @ Mets 7 p.m. Friday -- but FSNO says games might not start on DISH until August.
The DISH also has added seven other regional sports nets: FSN Arizona (Ch. 365), FSN Northwest (Ch. 376), FSN Pittsburgh (Ch. 378), FSN Detroit (Ch. 380), SportsTime Ohio (Ch. 381) FSN North (Ch. 386) and SportsNet NY (Ch. 388). In August DISH will add more HD channels: MHD (music from MTV, VH1, CMT); Golf/Versus, Animal Planet, Science Channel, TLC, Discovery and History.
Here's the status of FSNO HD for other carriers:
--Insight: Launched before Opening Day.
--Time Warner: No deal yet, but still talking to FSNO.
--DirecTV: Has option to pick up any HD Reds game, but chooses best HD game of the night, FSNO says. The Reds are scheduled for HD on July 23 and July 25, home games with the first-place Brewers.
And since this blog gets get plenty of comments from frustrated Time Warner customers, let me add this: Nothing new on TWC picking up Big Ten Network or NFL Network either.

What is the channel number on Insight for FSNOH HD?
FSN Cincinnati HD is the channel. Its in the 390s below where the sports teir starts(400s). The game will be carried tomorrow night acording to my guide. I'm a very happy customer of dish network and just got HD service a few weeks ago. Hopefully in a few years almost every channel will be offered in HD.
Any word on Dish picking up local channels in HD? I have an over the air antenna, and I don't always get the best reception. I cant get channel 9 period. Thats where Indy Car, and all my wifes shows are on. Channel 12 is never a problem.
To Odogg17: On Insight, the channel is 929. It's called "HDEVT" and is only available if you have an HD box or a CableCard. You'll know you're on the correct channel if you see the animation for FSN-HD.
Jon,
Channel 9 is the only local channel broadcasting in VHF. The hdtv signal is on channel 10. If you have a UHF only antenna, that may be your problem. After analog shutoff in 2009. WKRC is going to switch thier hdtv signal from channel 31 to channel 12 so it may have the same issue.
Looking forward to watchin the Reds quest for 100 in high-def
