What Did You Think Of The Emmys?

Well, I went 5 for 10. How did you do?

I guessed right on best variety show (The Daily Show), drama and comedy actresses (America Ferrera, Sally Field), best movie (Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee) and miniseries (Broken Trail). My gut told me The Sopranos would win best drama, but I felt Heroes had a better season, and influenced a half-dozen new TV shows this fall. I never figured Amazing Race and James Spader would repeat...

For me, the best part was The Daily Show writing nominations, with Alberto Gonzales not remembering anyone. The worst part was the Jersey Boys -- what did they have to do with The Sopranos other than their name?

What did you think of the show? What was the best line you heard on the show?

What do you think of the stage being in the center with the audience all around them?

Why did Fox seem to cut off so many acceptance speeches? Was there a ban on political statements this year?

I was happy to see 30 Rock win - love that show. And glad that Terry O'Quinn from Lost won - that show deserved at least some recognition for a great season.

My favorite moment was Jon Stewart & Stephen Colbert "giving" away the best actor award to their friend Steve Carrell (who should have won anyway!).

I was shocked that the office didnt win best comedy series. It should have. The storylines for the office are so much better written and acted than 30 rock

not a fan of award shows...but i do like when a show or actor wins so it gets attention so someone may go out and discover it...like when the BBC's The Office won the Golden Globes a few years back...creator/writer/and main actor of The Office Ricky Gervais won the Emmy for his brilliant HBO show Extras last night...ironic that he created The Office and Steve Carrell won the Emmy last year for the NBC version of The Office didn't he ???...i know the show did last year but i thought he did also...either way all brilliant shows...

BBC's The Office
NBC's The Office
Extras
Entourage
Weeds

Why did they edit out part of what Ray Romano was saying when he was about to speak about Kelsey Grammar? Maybe because he said something disparaging about his new (Fox) show coming out this fall?

If you're that worried about what people say, why have the show on your network to begin with?

I refuse to watch as long as they don't nominate CSI Las Vegas. If it not is not the best show on TV then why are the ratings so high? I am so tired of being force fed the garbage that is the Sopranos.

there is no ban on political statments, but there are still 7 words that you cant say on TV.And there were only two cuts that i saw.(Almost three if you could lip read.)
Thought the show was pretty bad as award shows go, except for Tony Bennett.

Kies:
The reason that the cast of Jersey boys was on was to pay tribute to the Sopranos. Thought it was kind of nice.(Cant compare to Tony Bennett though.
