Chip Chinery on "Last Comic Standing?

I got an email over the weekend from Chip Chinery, the Anderson Township native working in Los Angeles as a comedian and actor. He says to look for him on the season premiere of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” on May 30 (8-10 p.m., Ch. 5). The first episode features “Tonight Show” talent scouts traveling across the nation looking for the best comedians.
Chinery, who has done a lot of commercials and sitcom guest shots (“Sons & Daughters,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Seinfeld,” “Friends,” “Drew Carey”), says he polished up his stand-up routine for NBC. He says he could be on the second and/or third weeks too.

The end is near
Hope you’ve cleared out some space on the DVR. The next three days are gonna be packed with season finales, with May sweeps ending Wednesday. Tonight we have:
--Series ending: “Alias” (9-11 pm, Ch 9).
--Season finales: “24,” (8-10 pm, Ch 19), "King of Queens" (8 pm). “Wife Swap,” (8 pm), “New Adventures or Old Christine” (two parts, 8:30 & 9:30 p.m., Ch 12), “Two And A Half Men (9 pm, Ch 12), “Medium” (10 pm, Ch 5), “CSI: Miami” (10 pm, Ch 12), "Punk’d" (10 p.m., MTV).

CW network update
The people commenting on my blog last Thursday was right: If you want to see the new CW network – to watch “Gilmore Girls,” “Supernatural,” “Smallville,” “Girlfriends,” “Smackdown” or your favorite WB and UPN shows – start calling your cable system now. The new CW network won’t be on regular over-the-air TV here. Channel 12 will broadcast it as digital Channel 12.2, only available to those with digital TV receivers. So Channel 12 is talking to Time Warner and Insight about carrying the channel, as the cable systems do for CET’s digital channels and WLWT’s weather channel. By law the cable systems don’t have to pick up all the local digital channels… so demanding consumers will help get a deal done between Channel 12 and the cable operators by the fall TV season premieres.
