Lima Company on "Combat Diary"

This sounds fascinating: A&E’s “Combat Diary” has put together a two-hour film, “The Marines of Lima Company,” about the Ohio-based unit which lost 23 soldiers in Iraq last year, including five from Southwestern Ohio. Much of the film will be footage shot by the Marines in Iraq – everything from firefights, roadside explosions, video letters home and life in the barracks, A&E says. “Combat Diary: The Marines of Lima Company” will air just before Memorial Day weekend – at 9 p.m. Thursday, May 25.

Action Auction returns
“Action Auction,” the city’s original home shopping TV show, returns May 18-20 to CET after a one-year absence, and the station needs your help. Auction managers still need more restaurant gift certificates, Reds and Bengals tickets, and other items to be donated for the three-day sale. They also have Bengals collectibles, vacation trips and art.
To donate items, download a form at

Kiese watching
Can’t understand why PBS restarts “American Masters” this week, against powerhouse May sweeps shows. Guess that’s why we have DVRs and VHS machines. The five-month run of weekly shows starts with two new bios, John Ford/John Wayne today (9 p.m., Ch. 48) and Nat King Cole (9 p.m. next Wednesday). Then comes repeats of Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Muddy Waters, Bob Dylan and others.

Season finales today: WB's “The Bedford Wives,” 8 p.m., Ch. 64; CBS' “Criminal Minds,” 9 p.m., Ch. 12; Fox's “Unan1mous,” 9:32 p.m., Ch. 19. Is anyone watching "Unan1mous?" Way too cheesy for me.
