Commander In Chief impeached
When I saw the huge ratings for the “Commander in Chief” premiere last September, I never imagined that the Geena Davis White House drama wouldn’t outlast Martin Sheen’s term on “The West Wing.” But it’s happened, with ABC pulling “Commander in Chief” from tonight’s lineup in favor of “Prime Time Live.”
But any of us could have told ABC that scheduling “Commander in Chief” against “ER” and “Without A Trace” was dumb. The White House drama has lost half its audience – from 12 million to 6 million – at 10 p.m. Thursday. Being pulled during sweeps month is not a good sign for the troubled show’s chance of renewal. ABC announces its fall schedule on May 16.
On “Prime Time Live,” Mary Cheney – gay daughter of VP Dick Cheney – grants her first TV interview to Diane Sawyer (10 p.m., Ch 9).
CBS launches new Innertube on-demand service
This is pretty cool: Check out CBS' new Innertube service launched today at www.cbs. com, with on-demand video streaming of prime-time shows, soaps, exclusive web series ("Geek to Chic," a college makeover show; "BBQ Bill" with Rick Najera from "Mad TV), the "Survivor Live" web show, and other short features.
Doug’s day
Tonight we’ll see Doug Hall mentor three contestants on “American Inventor” (at 9 p.m., in the second hour, Ch. 9). Hall told me people will be surprised who he chose to get $50,000 to enhance their products.
“One guy surprised me, because I was ready to take him out, but he changed my mind. Two are long shots, major long shots – people who I thought had better ideas than what their presentations were,” he told me in March.
Viewers will determine the $1-million winner by voting after watching the four finalists next Thursday.
Ghost Hunter in town
Did you see Jason Hawes from “Ghost Hunters” (7, 8 & 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sci-Fi) in town? Hawes, a Roto-Rooter technician, is here for a corporate employee appreciation event. Roto-Rooter is owned by Cincinnati-based Chemed Corp.
Both Ghost Hunters characters (Perry and Grant) in the show are Roto-Rooter plumbers, and the show features their “day jobs” – as a way getting some TiVo-proof promotion for Roto-Rooter on TV, says Paul Abrams, Roto-Rooter media relations director.

its just a way to get viewers to watch the 5pm news. Channel 5 has always been the bottom for 5-630.
noon also. They should put the taking action on noon
Commander in Chief's removal is a real "bummer" in my book. I tired of "ER" after Anthony Edwards exited.
I still watch er and the story lines are getting better. If next season is there last they should bring back dr. ross for a final stint. and also dr benton.
I actually discovered after reading television addict's post that the whole taking action stuff for both Hopkins and Sussi are gone from 5s web site ,Whats the deal Kiese
Who on Ghost Hunters is named Perry? I've watched every episode so far and have never seen a "Perry".
