Out of the WARM98

Changes at WARM98: Several long-time WARM98 folks have left the building. Gone are Tom Sandman, the creative services director for 14 years who voiced (or wrote/produced) most of the promos for WARM98, MOJO and STAR96.5; Ted Morro, the assistant program director and 18-year vet who did overnights and filled in for everyone else; and promotion manager Holly Greaves were all terminated Thursday, the day before Cumulus Media Inc. took over the stations from Susquehanna Pfaltzgraff. GM Dan Swensson left earlier last week. Nobody on the on-air staff was fired by the old owners
Cumulus, the nation’s second-largest radio owner, paid $1.2 billion for the 33 stations owned by the dinnerware maker last year.

“Funniest Mom” again and again
Not been watching “Search for the Funniest Mom in America,” and curious to see Forest Park’s Angie Montgomery? Nick at Nite repeats the first four episodes tonight (9-11 p.m.), before the winner is announced in the final episode Tuesday (9:30-10:30 p.m.) on Nick at Nite

Kiese watching
I was disappointed watching a preview of “American Experience: Annie Oakley” (9 p.m. today, Ch 48, 16) that not more was made of Oakley’s 1875 shooting contest in Cincinnati with Frank Butler, her future husband, or that some believe she took her stage name from the Cincinnati suburb. Those are just minor points. Overall, it’s a fine hour about America’s first female superstar.
My family will be taping the finale of “7th Heaven,” WB’s longest-running series and – for years – one of its most popular (8 p.m., Ch 64). It’s been a delightful family drama, in the long tradition of “Little House,” “The Waltons” and “Life Goes On.” WB execs decided in November to cancel the show – two months before the announcement that WB and UPN would be merged into the new CW network. There’s a slim chance the show could be uncanceled, according to a recent Hollywood Reporter story, when CW executives announce their fall lineup on May 18. I’m not optimistic. Stay tuned.
Season finales tonight: UPN’s “All of Us” (8:30 p.m., Ch 38) and “Girlfriends” (9 p.m., Ch 38) and ABC’s “What About Brian” (10 p.m., Ch 9).
